This rug was a gift given to me by my aunt Farideh for graduating college. It's a Persian (duh) rug with pretty standard, yet intricate pattern that I fell in love with right away. I've had it in my bedroom in Norway ever since I got it and it was the first thing I packed to bring home to BK. Here, it fits better displayed right between the living room and kitchen. The colors are just perfectly synched and rich without being overwhelming and the pattern definitely stands out from everything else we have around it. Mismatching is the greatest form of matching in my world.

The second item is the first thing that greets you when you enter our home. Its a small bowl and plate that always represent Jelsen and I the way we are right now. It's what we dump whatever is in our pockets on as soon as we enter. Today, it has my ID and bank card with a few dollars in the bowl. A small gift that I plan on giving my friend
Stephanie the next time she drops by. A rock with the word "happiness" on it (a courtesy of our neighbors below as a thank you for some home made cinnamon buns I gave them). Jelsen's biz cards (cuz we're always representing) and a brand new elephant he gave me the other day, because he remembered they are my favorite animal.

This magazine stand Jelsen and I bought together at a flea market in Park Slope for $5. It was one of those days where everything was just perfect and familiar. We had our first meeting with our wedding florist
Jessy (whom we connected with right away) , then a great brunch at an Italian restaurant where the lady sitting next to us kept "ooo-ing" and "aaaww-ing" at how "beautiful our love" was. We then walked to the flea market, instantly fell in love with this stand, purchased it and walked it home.
Hand in hand.
It's so delicate and ornate (but not) and when we have company over, I like to put my computer in it to clear away space on the table.
